At GWS we accept this responsibility by introducing ways to avoid risk at the source, regularly questioning how we can do things better and/or safer.
After reviewing various tasks we do regularly, we deemed it necessary to change our lifting methods and introduce ‘Paf Bags’ to all sites where there is the potential for material to come loose.
These bags allow us to encapsulate our material as well as cumbersome waste that we often have to transport down to street level.
We currently have a dozen bags in circulation and they are specifically referred to in our RAMS when required.
