Are there things you see in your line of work that are regularly done incorrectly?
These are probably the top 3 most common mistakes I see…
1. Cold roofs installed without ventilation or vapour barrier
2. Lead being used in the wrong scenario and usually siliconed rather than welded
3. Mortar relied upon as the sole water proofer
I’m never sure if these mistakes are driven by financial decision or just miseducation.
What I am quite sure of is that in every case above, the contractor chosen was most probably the cheapest.
