Do you know what a ‘London Roof’ is?
These types of roof are ‘V’ shaped, with a central valley gutter, hidden behind a deep front parapet wall.
Replacing these roofs require the contractor to be aware of the various common defects that occur.
Strangely, much of the focus is not on the roof itself at all, as it is the surrounding parapets where many issues occur…
Lead flashings can often become redundant from rainwater penetrating through the surrounding parapets, despite them having been replaced and fitted correctly.
This sometimes may not become apparent until months after the roof is complete and scaffold removed.
Our before, during and after images show our most recently completed London roof in Marylebone, with code 5 lead capping to all surrounding parapets.
